saw quite a few of these (great if you have small kids). There's also one at the foot of the Sacre Coeur hill. Oh yea, there is a funicular(?) train track up the hill, so anyone can get up there, even those who are unable to walk/climb.

Anyway, by now it was around 5.30 pm and decided to go to Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysees, also the Eiffel Tower is not too far away from there. So went down those metro steps....

Maybe it was a bit later cos it's already getting dark (and here it is still light at 6 - 6.30 now but Paris is a bit more south). Well, I guess it took about half an hour on the tube anyway.



Lots of all kinds of shops on the Champs Elysees, and great for people watching too!

This is a really fancy shop (forget the name), look at the price of that necklace! (like I said, some seriously rich people in Paris, all over Europe really, you should see Switzerland!).

couple doors further down the fabulous swarovski shop. It was the daughter of the current swarovski who said you gotta hip it up!! they used to do those &quot;cute&quot; little animals that some old lady would have a collection of on the mantelpiece. So they gave her the o.k.

next door to that was an italian restaurant so went in there for a bite to eat, watching the world go by. After about an hour went down the road towards the Eiffel Tower, nice to see it at night, cos it is lit up. Did you know you can go on it? right to the top. There are 3 levels and 3 lifts.

After that I hailed a taxi, (doesn't seem the norm in Paris, unlike London, but one stopped). Took me along the embankment which was great cos across the water went past the Louvre and Notre Dame, which were lit up too, all the buildings really, it was a great taxi ride! well worth the money. (the alternative would have been going underground). After 12 plus hours on the go, all I wanted was a drive &quot;home&quot;.
Well, that also laid plans to go out to the world music cafe onto the list for next time.

Here are a couple more that I wanna show.

I found myself on the Rue de st. Honoré! non-descript indeed! First found Jimmy Choo (Jimmy Shoe ) so popped in. The shoes and bags didn't even have prices on them! I guess if you need to ask you can't afford it!! Saw a lovely bag so asked the assistant how much - ahum! 1250 euros!!

Went to Montmartre via the african area nearby, tho didn't check it out much. But this is more my shopping style! Pile 'm high and sell 'm cheap. Found a great shop selling clothes so got some nice stuff there. 2 bags full for about 50 euris. I noticed lots of marriage shops around....

o.k. time to go home, even their stations are lovely! (had a face clean, no doubt, recently). The train was cancelled but only an hour and a half wait till the next one.



Well, all around the square outside the station were cafes and restaurants, chose one which looked nice, funny, it had an african theme





same place....you can eat quite cheap in Paris....

Found this lovely website, there's no prices mentioned that I can find, but it says in all price classes, and love the angel. A good sign I think. Check it out.
