Yes, he was a good golfer and it was one of his passions. We had plans to travel to Toronto in July and for him to meet RichD for the first time so they could play golf with my uncle and cousins. He would have crushed them

His passion for golf was such that I had that photo of him made into a poster to put on an easel for the memorial service (except that we called it "A Celebration of Life&quot. I asked the florist to create an arrangement that would incorporate the wild vegetation in the background of the original photo. He, the florist, did a fantastic job! At one angle it looked like Mr. PZ was playing golf among the wild flowers. A friend snapped this photo of the altar after the service.

Continuing with trip report....

Today we leave Fish Camp and travel to San Francisco. The drive should be about 3.5 hours. I understand that once we travel down the mountains for about four miles, there will be no snow! There is a snow line in these parts.

My mother in Jamaica who is a Weather Channel groupie has already sent word via email to let me know what the weather would be like

So here begins the San Francisco portion of the report

Peasie, my husband and I were going to get married in that chapel if our fiancée visa had been approved... such a beautiful awe inspiring place!

Well, not now We arrived this afternoon to a sunny San Francisco after leaving a new snow storm this morning in Yosemite. I went down hill in the snow at about 10 mph in low gear. The police were stopping folks from driving up higher making sure they had chains on their tires. So the stars were aligned for us during our visit

We had snow and rain all along Routes 41, 49, 99. By the time we got to Merced the rain had eased up and then the sun came out all the way to the Bay

We're staying downtown. My sons are staying on a separate floor and I don't think I will see them before Thanksgiving . I heard them talking about the club scene, shopping at the Chrome and Timbuk2 stores, and sushi. I'll hear from them when they run out of money .

So I am just chilling and taking it easy. I plan to walk a lot in the city and explore some good food . Lots of hills downtown so that will be fun. Here is the view from my hotel window. Yes, that's the bay, Coit tower, waterfront, Alcatraz.

We had no cell phone access in the Yosemite area. Now that I am in San Francisco, Mommy is calling me from Jamaica to give me daily weather forecasts. Vonage is a dangerous weapon in my mother's grasp

We are in a great location here in the city. Last evening I walked up Columbus Avenue skirting between Chinatown and North Beach, the Italian part of town. And then I walked some more. It was breezy and cold which made the walking even more rewarding

Gosh, there are so many restaurants in this part of town and I checked several to find out if they were open on Thanksgiving day. They all are. Our plan for Thanksgiving is for the three of us to have two meals together: Peas1 decides on dinner location and Peas2 on lunch.

Last night I stopped at a fairly decent Chinese tavern and had dim sum, soup, and a cocktail. At the table next to mine sat a very pretty woman who was also dining alone. She seemed friendly. She started the conversation by asking me if I was here on business. I told her no, that I was here with my family for a little vacation, what about you? I asked. She said her four daughters were spending the week with their dad in Texas and this was her first holiday without them. She lives in Colorado and decided that she was not going to stay at home and mope and that she would just take off an have a week to herself in SF. She didn't seem sad, just a little wistful I told her she was doing a good thing to spend some alone time in her own company.. She told me her daughters were ages 10, 8, 6, and 3.

I love this city I used to tell people that I would gladly live on the San Andreas fault line if I could just have San Francisco This is my fourth visit in nine years and my fifth visit overall. I traveled out here solo to visit friends one Thanksgiving nearly 21 years ago. I was 4 months pregnant with Peas2 and I felt the need to just getaway for a few days. I have never made a big emotional deal about Thanksgiving - I save my emotions for Christmas . That Thanksgiving Mr. PZ and 3-year-old Peas1 were quite happy to do the usual holiday with his family in Philadelphia.

Mr. PZ did not have a spirit of wanderlust for adventure as much as I did. He never cramped my style though and we got along very well . If I told you in the years we were together we never had a fight, you wouldn't believe me. But there it is *shrug*. He was also 11 years older than me and quite settled in his life when we met ... and I rocked his world

That reminds me ... on the road trip yesterday we were listening to Lil' Wayne and were dedding with these lyrics &quot;just call me Mr. Flintstone cause I can make your bedrock&quot;

I won't do a lot of photos of San Francisco for this report. That'll be too boring

Here's one of the many views of the Bay from my window this morning. I watched the sun come up and brighten Telegraph Hill where the Coit tower presides. I'm going to walk up there today from the hotel. I would show you the tower but there is this huge crane outside my window blocking it.



What a busy port! Huge cargo ships keep passing bay at high speed probably over to the Oakland shipping docks.
