The sight of these weather beaten windows was a stark contrast to the somewhat pristine condition of the other buildings around it, like the one below.

This sign speaks for itself. I quickly discovered the prices of just about everything in the district were incredibly high.



In the bakery I was tempted to get hot bread and butter, but resisted...



And here (in the district) there are no Tim Hortons, Second Cup, or Starbucks...

It is virtually impossible to not see the majestic CN Tower from just about anywhere in downtown Toronto.

There is some construction taking place on the property, and the sign below is one of the many on the boardings that fenced in the work area.



I figured that this intellectual stimulation, and there were LOTS of them, was reflective of the folks who favored the district.

Thanks for the tour of the Distillery District. I had no idea it existed. The buggy reminded me of St. Jacobs.

I've been up there before as well, and yes, the buggy does remind me of the Amish's existing mode of transportation. Re the distillery district, I had no idea it existed either. I actually saw it on a city map and figured I would go check it out, and I have no regrets. To find out the site was used in the making of so many movies was just as surprising. A few more pics to come, but I'm glad you're enjoying it so far.
