i hit the sack - abu headed for O2 to return about 3:30 am

i couldn't wait to get off the ship in the morning - COZUMEL

not my favorite place in the world but at least i would be on terra firma

next morning - land - cozumel

i didn't book any excursions with the ship - they cost a small fortune - plus i didn't want to hang with shipmates 24/7

so abu and i headed through the perfume, liquor, jewelry and smokes to catch a local taxi

we decided on a beach day - not much else to do on the island - and i didn't want to ferry to playa del carmen (been there before)

the closest public beach is ocean beach so we head there

back on the ship - they warn you - you will be left - sets up a bit of anxiety

the breakfast and lunch buffet area has several stations set up for food - indian food, deli, burrito bar, pasta bar and a changing menu - today was caribbean food

i had some jerk chicken, rice and peas - and moaned because i wasn't in jamaica - eating curry goat, fried fish and mannish wata

i walked around a bit but the ship was pretty quiet

next morning - BELIZE

the port there is swallow so we had to tender in - felt like herding - had to get a number - fill up the tender then go to land

the cruise director said belize was the only place he really recommended a cruise sponsored excursion - in his words - "they are selling stuff that is illegal in every country in the world"

music to my ears - lol - i head straight out the port and get a local taxi

well.... um, what's something nice i can say?..... uhhhhhh ok - the ship is pretty. and the decorations look nice. belize looks truly lovely. and my nephew -- wow! what a handsome fellow he is growing up to be!!! (((Abu)))

but <span style="font-weight: bold">OMG</span> the <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold">crowds</span>.</span>... <span style="font-style: italic"> yeeeeeeeeeekkkss </span> i woulda felt trapped too -- like having a nightmare that i was locked inside Walmart and cudden get out!

and geez yuh think for what they charge ya to go on a cruise they coulda spare some bedding? They got you sleeping on a postage stamp.

urgh, not for me.

to me - everytime i was ashore - it felt like beat the clock - making sure to get back in time so you don't wave bye bye to the ship

belize was as a quiet as a tomb - festivities had happened the night before and our driver said everyone was in recovery mode

this is a cemetary - above water - they used to put you in the crypt and let you rot

now it's a playground
