Friday night fresh from out of town and tired as a dog Ivoree called, or did I call...I can't remember...anyway, she mentioned going to some black tie affair the following day and mentioned she had an extra ticket. Normally I would have said no but I was too tired and found myself saying yes I would go. At $150.00 per ticket, it must be something good. I had no idea it was the Harry Jerome Award Ceremony until I drove into the Toronto Congress Centre, noticed the signage and called Ivoree on her cell. Clearly she had attended way too many of these events because it was no big deal to her while I was hyper-ventilating.

Found parking wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy at the back of the building where Ivoree was sitting waiting for me in her car. It was a lovely day however with the sun slowly disappearing it was starting to be a bit chilly. Ivoree emerged from her car in an alter-top thingy and no coat, jacket, scarf, nothing. She looked lovely however.

We did the longggggggggggg walk to the entrance of the building wondering why they didn't have valet service or a taxi service.
Enter the building and just from the colour of our tickets we were directed to the VIP area. Yes, yes, yes....calm down Compry. We made our way in, found table 41, way up front but still far away from the stage.
MG, the ambiance was lovely however because of the dim lights, and the fact that I don't know how to use my camera, the pictures will be a little dark. However I do hope you get a slight idea, since the phone call was so short, of what it was like to be at the 25th Harry Jerome Awards.
