Thanks Bandi....the wildlife(?) OWN the park!...she walked right up to us and kept posing....anyway.....I'll jump ahead a bit in the story here and in case anyone's thinkin about telling Arlo that "there is no fool like an old fool"... here's proof that your intuition might be on TARGET!.............why is it I keep gravitatin to THESE places? [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70402-thinking.gif[/img] ....no sasquatch was to be found in this establishment.

...We spent the night in Port Angeles at LB's brother's place, after giving him a couple of hours notice that we were showing up...ate dinner at a Japanese restaurant in town cuz he lives alone and his kitchen is equipped to only cook about two things...one of them being toast.

day 2...pics of old trees, one dead, one alive...



we had to get lost before we found a few of these ancient ones...

...here's another part of the map...showing where we met with the trees......near and around the Hoh river area....and there was a lot of stuff to see on the way from Port Angeles...

...and the place we found to stay at... the power was out when we got there but came back on later....this cabin came completely equipped with an outhouse.

this shot is actually of a row of trees that blew down all at once....their root structures must be about 12'-14' high, I would guess....



moss...my camera was wet...and everything here kinda came out with a purple-red color to it...I'm not sure why....

Wow!!!!! Great pictures....It's amazing how much this country side reminds me of home. Perhaps this is a place that I definitely need to check out.
