Great pictures!! Love the loby, looks like a very cool place... and the pic of the plam tree [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif[/img] the water looks almost as good as Jamaica [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif[/img]

Thanks Bandanna - it was nice... and the water was great - not as calm as Jamaica waters though - I sat under that palm tree over looking the beach an read my book - was great. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70409-waytogo.gif[/img]

Nice pics and nice report. I know that hotel. I took a peek at it a couple of years ago. Have only been to Cancun once and would probably not go back...would go to Isla Mujeres or Cozumel instead.

Keep it coming...brings back memories. I should really do another trip down...from here it's not far. Plus, I want to go back to Tulum and explore some more.

(((WV))) I took the Cancun trip in July an my birth day was Tuesday past so they are not related... I would not go back to the Grande Oasis next time - probly the Hyatt... it was pretty and the gournds were great - 9 restaurants in site but cutomer service sucked big time and it seemed to me that they were catering more to a younger crowd who probably had lower expectations than we did... apart from that it was a good time.

the trip was actually a graduation gift to 2 teenagers in the family who had just graduated high school and we felt it was only right for us to be there since we were footing the bill [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img]

Thanks CG - one of the girls we took was my neice from Ja. she had worked very hard this past year and I am very happy to report that she took 8 CXC's and got all eight with 5 distinctions - YAYYY - I want her to do SAT's this year and try to get into a college here.

Prior to booking the tickets I had gone online and checked to see what a Jamaican resident would need to go to Mexico throuh the US... online what it said was that they needed their visa of course and immigration form that u are given on arriving - somethign to that effect... we get to the airport early and we're chckign in only to be told that Jamaicans need a visitors letter (or something like that) which is issued at their consulate in NY...
My poor neice was so distressed - the officals at the airport called down to Cancun to tell them that she was coiming with American citizens to see if they would just let her in - we were told no... so the other adult in our group had to stay behind with her (we had a very early flight) and go into NY and get the paper to come back to teh airport and catch a 6PM flight... so they lost some time...
She was just so disppointed though when she thought she would not be able to make it and I felt so huilty for not doing better homework... but who would think that MEXICO would demand visas or letters from Jamaicans... \o/
