Where in the warmer parts of America can you find Carribean people in close proximity , that necessitate West Indian grocery stores and resturants, etc.?
Any Boardite live in Arkansas?
Is there a Jamaican grocery store there?

In central Florida, will banana trees, and mango trees grow well there?
What are some of the names of the communities in central Florida that will give you alittle shoulder room to grow fruit bearing trees?

Central FLorida has frost in the winter. You would have to wrap the trees to protect them from the frost. If you know what you are doing, they might survive.
Citrus does well in Central Florida. I don't know about mango or banana.
I live in Orlando and yes it's consider Central Florida. Banana and mango will grow but we sometimes get frost so they have to be covered up. My juneplum and avacado does very well.
In a few years I will be ready to retire; and I am just trying to find some recomendations of a calm area in a warm part of the U.S.A. that will allow some of the fruit trees that I grew up with to thrive. I also dont want to be far from the flavor of the Carribean.
I know the people on this board live all over the world; what do you like most about where you live? Is this the place you would choose to retire?
I know some will say what about Jamaica?
While I love Jamaica; given the current cilmate there, I don't think it would be too calming for me.
If you are looking somewhere peaceful, what about eastern florida? Like Sebastian? It is very quite there, warm, and the lots are quite sizeable, so space for your trees..
