I just joined today & wanted to give a quick shout.
I'm a proud JA-merican (born in the US to jcan parents) and am planning to visit JA with friends sometime in the next year. I haven't been to JA in about 10 years & most of my family has migrated to the US, UK or Canada. So I'm sure my trip will feel very "touristy"--which I don't want. Also, I was still a teenager the last time I was there. So experiencing JA as an adult and on my own will be new for me. Hopefully I'll be able to connect with some good ppl here who can give me some tips or suggestions for enjoying Jamaica without getting caught in the tourist traps.
