Hello! Here's a teacher question for you..and any teachers. Do you find the start to this school year particularly cumbersome in terms of paperwork and data organization? Here in Massachusetts, it is endless. It's cutting into my internet time!

Yes maam. The paperwork and unending meetings are out of control this year. I am finding that I am leaving school 2 and 3 hours after school is over, so that I can get everything done. Dont tell kids to stay after for extra help, b/c they can never find me with all the meetings. Kids are coming on lunch time.

The meetings..sigh.. I teach special ed, so we have lots of long IEP meetings. Between those and the sub-committees for our accreditation review, it feels like I'm never with my class. I was curious to know how things are in your neck of the woods. It must be the same everywhere.
Enjoy the weekend. Take some time off!

Re: hailin iluvportland
I'm lucky in some ways. I teach kindergarten this year, and there's not too much paperwork. They also take naps so I have a little more time at school to take care of work than I did when teaching older kids. Best of all is that my school is 5 minutes from home. On the other hand . . .
I grabbed a little darlin's hand yesterday to take him out to meet his dad and there was a strange substance left in my hand once I let his hand go. I don't want to speculate as to what that substance was . . . won't go into the color or consistency . . . but I used a cup of hand sanitizer once I got back to my room!

eeww..Lynntt, can relate only too well. I've someone who makes a mess when he sneezes and I nearly vomit every time I'm near. I can manage about anything but mucous..ugh.
It's nice not to have a long commute, isn't it? Mine is only about 10 miles through easy roads. Given how gas prices have been..
