Can you help me?

I need 60 seconds of your time and possibly a splash of your sympathy.

I don't usually do this but I have been trying to find my old friend, Mr Mark Antonio Martin for the past 8 months. Mark emigrated to New York in 2007 or 2008 and I've never seen him again.

Although we were not in touch when he left the UK, I still wish we'd kept in contact as his well being is never far from my mind. I want to know that he's alright, making his dreams come true and is happy.

He is originally from Jamaica , West Indies, around 5'11, of brown complexion and worked as a barber whilst in the UK. He has brown eyes, his hair is usually kept low, has/had a small moustache, a gold tooth and is of medium build (well he was the last time I saw him) He's in his mid-late 30's now and I have reason to believe that he's in Brooklyn, NY. He may be working as a barber again; quite possibly in the Flatbush area of Brooklyn but I cannot be sure.

his name is fairly common - i found 577 mark antonio martin's in the usa

do you know any relatives that may be in the states (or his wife's name)

i found several in the brooklyn area and one more identifying name may help

Thanks for responding; unfortunately, I don't have the additional details you ask for. I do wish his name was more unique as it is gonna make things a lot more difficult.

Seveen, Rachel's been posting on the 'Net with posts about how he's "the love of her life" and how she wants to get back together with him. She's not going to admit to knowing the man's wife's name, even if she knows it. I've seen the "Help me find Mark Martin - is he your barber?" posts on genealogy and NYC city data websites.

WitchyOoman: I'm not gonna deny it - he IS the love of my life and I have no qualms with admitting it. As to wanting to get back together with him, I have <span style="text-decoration: underline"><span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-style: italic">never</span></span></span> said that so I'm not entirely sure how you came to that conclusion.
If I knew that he had a wife, then contacting him would be out of the question as it would just disrupt his and her happiness.
When I post things on the Internet, I am fully aware that the entire world can see it and so yes, I'm posting on this and other forums in the hope that he or someone who knows him will see it. After all, you did, which means it's reaching people.
Seveen, you can see it all for yourself also and email me/reply to this thread if you have any further questions.

and i've communicated with her privately via email

with such a common name - i am having a problem finding him

MGee: If he does not wish to be found then he'll decline to communicate or not be found at all. I have thought those possibilities through.

asking because i don't know - for the people you find, do you ask their consent to share information with the seeker?

i find people using public information - i don't have any special tools that i use to find them - i google - use inmate info - use telephone book - social security info - obituaries - all public info

so . . . i just pass on public information
