Ja Mon, this is ZemZem, I,m interested in buying a likkl land or a house wit 2 bedrooms in Hannover or Treasure Beach area not to close to the sea Isay bout 2-3 km from the sea. I would like to put down about 10000us and pay so much every month maybe a loa thru the bank is this possible in Jamaica like they do in the USA. but I perfer buying from a yard not no realtor since they ask so bloody much. http://www.JRFI.com has some deals. You can get cheap amd worthless land $9,000 for 9 acres. You can get a house and an acre or two for millions of dollars.
They generaly ask between 30 and 50% more then they expect to get if they advertise on the web.

You think that if it cheap it is easy to acquire??
Not always so. Not in Jamaica.
All of the properties that are sold by that organization are seized property.The majority still have the original owners occupying it.
Many of these people will stop at nothing to keep posession of these property legal and illegal. The police in Jamaica has their hands so full that they most likely will not be able to prevent it.
I would advise to you and all those who are trying to acquire repossessed property in Jamaica is to first talk with others that have done so.
Talk to other compatriots that that are more familiar with the situation re security in Jamaica and then decide.
If it is cheap there is a reason and most of the times,the reason is more in cost than in dollars. In my time I have seen a few foreigners loose more than their monies over property that locals are unwilling to vacate. Buying property in Jamaica from willing parties with no incumberances are difficult enough,much less taling on tjis.
You can;t call the police to settle most problems. They usually reach long after it is beyond that.Much tooo long. If property is in Jamaiba that are dirt cheap,there are a lot of Jamaicans who can afford to buy it.Jamaicans love to own propery. Even if they have no immidiate productive use for it. Most Jamaicans dpo niot sell their home when they buy a new one. They keep it as rentak property.

There are always problems with seized properties. I was thinking the man had his property seized because he had no money. I thought I would hire the man.
No business deal ever works if both parties are not satisfied.
The big problem is to find a way that everyone wins.
At least that is how I see it.
I am a blue collar electrical worker, I don't have the money for the rich mans game.

Hey did you see the cops and soldiers shot up a house in Kingston? A real Dodge City going on.

Get the Teamsters Union on the docks and they'll put a quick end of these shoot outs.
