Hi there to everyone

I'm new to this boards, but have looked over the site pretty well for a while now. We are planning to move to Jamaica in the fall and I would like to chat with some that lived there forever and also ones that have moved there from the USA.
My fiance is from Jamaica and I am not, together we are bringing our family to the island soon to be married and to live there.
I am from the northern parts up near Canada, so I don't think I have to elaborate on getting away from the cold, but there are many other reasons for us to live there as well. I believe it will be a much needed change of pace for all of us.
Anyone wanna share your experiences? It would be helpful to me, since I have not been there myself. Thank you for any response you may have.
