The newly installed Poet Laureate of Jamaica, Professor Mervyn Morris, shares a laugh with his wife, Helen, during the Ceremony of Investiture held at King's House on Wednesday. In addition to being recognised for his outstanding accomplishments as a Jamaican poet, Morris will also promote reading and Jamaican literature, with an emphasis on poetry, and promote poetry as an art and medium for entertainment and for recording and disseminating cultural heritage.
