JAMAICAN Shanique Myrie on Monday received the US$38,000 from the Barbados government that was awarded to her by the Caribbean Court of Justice last year over a demeaning body cavity search she was subjected to in the Eastern Caribbean island in 2011. Yesterday Jamaica Observer online readers welcomed the decision and praised the newspaper for keeping the story in the 'spotlight'. Here are some edited comments:
