JAMAICA Observer online readers are heaping criticisms on the Government amidst a disclosure by the Auditor General Department that a several lack of funding has led to the deterioration of the Jamaica fire service to the point where even its headquarters in Kingston did not meet its own fire safety standards. In a report tabled in Parliament, Auditor General Pamela Monroe-Ellis said that the Jamaica Fire Brigade received less than 13 per cent of the budget it had requested from the Government to meet its capital expenses over the last five years.
