KINGSTON, Jamaica -- The Jamaica Public Service (JPS) says it is moving to address the cause of repeated outages which affected sections of Portmore over the weekend. The outages were due to the effect of contaminants on the lines, including salt from the sea spray and wind, which have remained on sections of the distribution network, as a result of the extended drought period, the power company explained.
