Joan Barrett, a resident of Kent Village, St Catherine, has been doing brisk business selling cola nut (bissy) and guinea hen weed to customers desperate to find a remedy for the chikungunya virus which has struck down many in recent weeks. "This is the chik-V cure," Barrett announced as she held up a placard with the message for passing motorists to see. The customers did not need much encouragement as they flocked the wayside vendor to purchase the supposed remedy. Here she is assisted by a man to showcase the items to passing motorists.
