JAMAICA Observer online readers have weighed in on the ruling People's National Party's retention of the Central Westmoreland seat following Monday's by-election. The party's candidate, Dwayne Vaz, amassed 8,720 votes compared to the 6,268 received by Fay Reid-Jacobs of the Opposiiton Jamaica Labour Party. However, some online readers have questioned the results, given the dire state of the constituency which has been represented by the PNP for more than 20 years. Here are some edited comments:
