PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (Trinidad Expressed) — The Government has no plans to introduce or reintroduce any system for the collection of Land and Building taxes or any form of property tax during this current parliamentary term, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar said yesterday. She was responding to a question from Chaguanas MP Jack Warner during Prime Minister’s Question Time in Parliament, Tower D, International Waterfront Centre, Port of Spain. It means that the population would have paid no taxes on property under the People’s Partnership Government, which had come to office on a promise to “axe the tax”.
