KINGSTON, Jamaica - Following the announcement in Parliament today by Finance Minister, Dr Peter Phillips of an increase of 14.28 per cent in the Special Consumption tax on cigarettes, Carreras Jamaica has issued a statement saying that this move by the Government will only serve to fuel the already popular and soaring illicit trade in cigarettes.
