THE Office of the Contractor General (OCG), in its report tabled in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, said it found nepotism, favouritism, and conflicts of interest in the awarding of contracts to relatives and persons affiliated with former mayor of Lucea, Shernet Haughton. The report highlighted that the former mayor awarded contracts to her spouse, sisters and a brother along with daughters and son, as well as brother and sister-in-law. The OCG has recommended that Haughton relinquish her post as councillor for the Green Island Division of the Hanover Parish Council. Yesterday, the Jamaica Observer solicited some views in Hanover on the OCG's recommendation.
