These policemen -- Cpl C Thompson and Cons C Newman of the Kingston Eastern Division -- showed a different side of the police recently when they stopped to help a motorist when her vehicle broke down on Elleston Road in Kingston. The motorist says the officers stopped and enquired what was wrong and when they found out that her battery had died they asked if she had a jumper cable, to which she responded in the negative. "I thought I would never see them again, but to my surprise there came the two officers after about 15 minutes later with the jumper cable to offer their assistance," she says. "I thought this was the work of two good Samaritans and they should be commended."
