THE revelation that this year's murder toll in Jamaica is nearing the 1,000 mark has raised fresh concerns among Jamaica Observer online readers about the ability of the ruling People's National Party Administration to bring spiraling crime rate under control. According to a story published in yesterday's edition of the Daily Observer, statistics show that up until Wednesday (October 14), a total of 981 persons had been murdered, which is a 25.4 per cent increase in killings over the corresponding period last year.
