Amid talk of impending general elections, Jamaica Observer Chairman Gordon 'Butch' Stewart hosted two luncheons last week for the two major political parties - the governing People's National Party (PNP) and the Opposition Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) - hoping to nudge them to put emphasis on issues and policies. Government ministers and Opposition spokespersons faced questions from Observer editors at the luncheons held at the newspaper's Beechwood Avenue offices in Kingston.
