Jamaica Observer representatives (from left) Zaheer Clarke, Jediael Carter, Kimberley Hibbert, Keleshia Powell, Moya Hinds, Anika Richards, Kimone Francis, Javene Skyers and Sherdon Cowan pose with their Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ) awards received at the organisation’s National Journalism Awards at the Courtleigh Auditorium Saturday night. Clarke, a columnist, received a Certificate of Merit for the Morris Cargill Award for Opinion Journalism; Carter was named Young Journalist of the Year; Hibbert received the award for Excellence in Reporting on Health and Wellness; Powell, Hinds and Richards from Observer Online received a Certificate of Merit for Best News Website; Francis received the Award for Excellence in Reporting on the Agricultural Sector; Skyers received the Certificate of Merit in the same category; and Cowan received the Carl Wint Award for Human Interest Feature Stories (Print) as well as the Raymond Sharpe/Hugh Crosskill Award for Sports Reporting.
