Members of the Jamaica Observer team were all smiles at Emancipation Park in Kingston, on Sunday, after completing the 19th Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run. The team was among almost 25,000 participants who turned out to run, walk and wheel in the 5K event in order to raise funds for abandoned children and babies in the Missionaries of the Poor-operated Bethlehem Home, the Spanish Town Hospital Paediatric Unit and the Mandeville Hospital Paediatric Unit. Having set a target of $60 million this year, the efforts of Sagicor and those who supported the initiative resulted in a whopping $50.5 million in funds being raised for charity.
