GRAZ, Austria — Jamaican speed skater Romaine Austin displays his gold medal yesterday after winning the 500m race in division 15 at the Special Olympics World Winter Games inside Liebenau ice rink stadium in Graz. Austin, a novice on ice, stopped the clock at 1:18.971 minutes, ahead of three competitors from Hong Kong. His feat represents Jamaica’s first gold medal on ice at the Special Olympics World Games.
