JAMAICA Observer online readers have reacted with disgust to a Sunday Observer report on a study — conducted by a local pastor — which has found that many Christian men feel that they are superior to women and thus have the right to rule their spouses. In the story, titled Battered (church) wives, Reverend Ian Muirhead, who conducted the research, said the results of the study confirmed that there is still support inside the church for orthodox Christian views which justify the subordination of females.
