The driver of this stationwagon narrowly missed series injuries yesterday when vehicle was hit by a bauxite train as it negotiated a railroad crossing in Retirement, St Ann, yesterday morning. The train was travelling from Discovery Bay towards the bauxite mines in Water Valley when the accident occurred. According to the police, the vehicle spun then ran onto an embankment after it was hit by the train. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the car, was taken for medical attention. The Jamaica Observer understands that he was heading home after dropping off his children at school.
