Kadisha Smith, seen here with baby Mickayla in hand, had several reasons to celebrate yesterday. She was the first mother at Victoria Jubilee Hospital to give birth — at 5:49 am — and for that, teelcommunications giant Digicel surprised her with a crib loaded with products and other essentials for her new baby. She was also gifted with a handset and free call credit, which were handed over by Sandra Ledgister, sponsorship executive at Digicel. Acting matron at the hospital, Elise Fairweather Blackwood oversaw the proceedings.
