LONDON, England — British Prime Minister David Cameron (R) and Russian President Vladimir Putin (2R) award the Russian Ushakov medal to WWII Arctic Convoy veterans during a meeting at 10 Downing Street in central London on June 16, 2013. Cameron and Putin held talks on June 16 on Syria's civil war, a meeting which could set the tone for the G8 summit, with the West at odds with Moscow over how to handle the conflict. The Arctic convoys were the daring oceangoing convoys during World War II that sailed the northern Arctic route from the UK, Iceland and North America to Russia to keep them supplied and able to fight with the Allies.
