ANTHONY Hylton's plea to the public for patience in making judgement on the proposed development of Goat Islands as a trans-shipment and logistics hub, has been greeted with mixed reaction by Jamaica Observer online readers. In an article yesterday, Hylton -- the minister of industry, investment and commerce -- says the proposal would have to undergo all the processes for development, including an environmental impact assessment. His remark comes amidst growing concerns by environmentalists and other groups that such a development for the Goat Islands, which sit off the cost of Old Harbour Bay, would be detrimental to the environment.
