Residents of Arnett Gardens in Kingston block a section of Collie Smith Drive during heavy rains, to protest against the disconnection of electricity from several premises by the Jamaica Public Service (JPS). "The company come cut off the light, move out the transformers from off the light poles, leaving the whole area in darkness. I can't even get to press my children uniform to send them to school," said a female resident. The JPS said it was having serious problems getting residents to regularise their operations, which led to the disconnection. It, however, apologised to legal customers who were affected.
