Dennis Hickey (right), executive director of the Tourism Development Company (TPDCo, speaks with Glaister Ricketts, president of the Rotary Club of St Andrew North, at the club's meeting recently. Hickey, who was the guest speaker, said his organisation was able to successfully implement projects on behalf of its partners, including the Tourism Enhancement Fund and the Ministry of the Tourism and Entertainment, to the tune of $1 billion. "All these projects are geared at implementing the recommendations, which have come from the Master Plan for Sustainable Tourism Development," he said. However, he said despite the "fair measure of success", TPDCo is presently redefining itself "to ensure that we are more effective, more efficient and even more responsive tot eh needs of the industry".
