JAMAICA Observer online readers have overwhelmingly blasted former chairman of the Electoral Commission of Jamaica Chairman Dr Herbert Thompson over his explanation of the series of events that led up to his acceptance of an award — said to be meant for the ECJ — from the ruling People’s National Party, which has cost him the top post. In an Observer story on Tuesday, Dr Thompson, who has stayed on the ECJ as an independent member, said that had he seen the invitation letter, he would not have attended the function.
