Kingston, Jamaica - The Medical Association of Jamaica (MAJ)is again raising concerns about the ability of the government to finance the health sector in a sustainable way to guarantee quality healthcare. Among the issues of concern to the MAJ is the government’s no user fee policy introduced in 2008 which has resulted in reduced funding to the health sector.The MAJ’s concerns are to be deliberated at a public forum titled “Sustainable Financing of the Health Sector in Jamaica” on Wednesday October 23, at the Courtleigh Auditorium in New Kingston, beginning at 5:30pm.
