Yevjeni Russell (centre) and Jodi Anne Fredankey, father and mother of Jevonte Russell, whose service of thanksgiving was featured in the December 1 issue of the Sunday Observer, hands over a Perkins Smart Brailer to Esmie Taylor, vice-principal of the Salvation Army School for the Blind and the Visually Impaired. The Brailler, valued at more than $250,000, was donated by staff members of the Jamaica Energy Partners. Russell, who was a student of the school, aimed for excellence although he was blinded by brain tumour, from which he died.
