Deputy Superintendent of Police in charge of operations, traffic division Patrick Murdock and a team of officers conducting spot checks in St Thomas last week as part of the Traffic Enforcement and Resilience Operation currently ongoing across the island. The operation targets hotspots for moving violations, including dangerous driving and speeding. Last week's operation saw a number of persons prosecuted and several vehicles seized. Murdock said the operation helps to reduce fatalities on the nation's roads. 'Once there is high visibility of the police the motorists will conform,' he said. The operation, he said was also helping to address traffic congestion in the towns. (PHOTO: KARL MCLARTY)
