Sunday School Memory

I wouldn't call them favrit memories maybe you should change it to "bad" memories

where do i even begin, and we weren't even uber religious like the people dat did guh chuch all 5 times a week, and have them kids a church way into the dead of night

Ugh... This was me! Definitely no good church memories for me.

11:00am Sunday school followed by "morning" church (which rarely finished before 3:30pm). Go home for couple hours. Evening church - still di deh 10 ah clack ah night when pickney haffi git up guh ah school next day. Bible study. Young people meeting. Choir practice. Prayer meeting. The list was horrendously endless!

Then YES! There were the Billy Graham tent revivals and Conventions.

given that i neva went to sunday school after i was 8 it must be said that i did learn alot of sexual terms .....

An Anglican priest on e told me A LOT of sex happened on church property

My father disliked organized religion of any form. I am sure it was a result of being brought up in a closed Long Sleeve Society religious order where he saw a lot of blatant hypocrisy. My mother, on the other hand, grew up in a household where the focus was on belief in God, simplicity and being kind to neighbors. Whichever active Sunday School was close to us - Anglican, Brethren, Methodist - she sent us there. We never had to go to formal church although each of her six children chose to do so in their adult lives.

Unfortunely I don't agree aid Mikey Dread... Waste of my time those fifty or hundred hours....learnt nothing.. The only bigger waste was the so call religious education at high school...

Das wan ah the reason wen mi got older, mi neva set foot inna church fi many years. Pan Sunday is ah all day, all nite ting. Noh matta if yuh even tiad, an haffi goh ah school ah mawning. Dem ah push yuh fi goh ah chuch three an four times pan Sunday! If yuh nodd off dem tell yuh wake up an fi goh wash yuh face. As ah kid yuh ah listen tuh som preacher ah scare di daylight outa yuh wid fire an brimstone, an yuh haffi sit deh an listen, bored tuh death. Some nights, ah 11PM mi ah climb inna bed caa dem drag it out.
