Newton is minutes from finishing Iditraod at this very moment!

The last time I looked at GPS about 10 minutes ago he was 5 miles from Nome. Mile 957 of 962 total miles on the roughest trail in Iditarod History!

I will attempt a screen capture. Just set up my laptop so I can use the GPS again I have the finish live on my desktop computer big screen as I can make it.

Finish Line Party!

People are starting to come out of the buildings at the finish line, a small crowd is assembling to await the hero live and in person, Newton is certain to win the Sportsmanship award!

The people who are closest to Newton (in the prime spit at the finish line) have a little girl with them, she looks to be 6-8 years old, it's hard to tell when everyone is bundled up! How exciting for her to be there, she will never forget this her whole life.

While it was great to see Karyn's footage, now that the last musher has reached Nome all of the Official Iditarod videos are free and public.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a movie made of this year's race, there was so much drama and so many twists and turns I can't imagine it NOT being made into a full length film. I hope they do it, and if they do they HAVE to use Newton playing himself, nobody could imitate that genuine smile and positive outlook while going through what transpired this year. Nobody.
