THE finals of the 2014 ISSA/Jamaica Hockey Federation high school boys' and girls' Under-19 competitions will be played this afternoon at the Mona Hockey Turf.
Action in the girls final will be between defending champions St Andrew High and St Hugh's, scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm, while the boys final between Wolmer's Boys and Mona High is expected to start at 4:30 pm.
Interestingly, the finalists in both competitions will be facing each other for the first time this season.
Also, a new champion will be crowned in the Under-19 boys league after defending champions Jamaica College were knocked out in the semi-finals.
St Andrew High reached the girls final by defeating Excelsior High 2-1 through goals from Bijee Jackson and Simone Gardner, while the losers' lone goal came from Dayna Burton in semi-final action last Friday.
In the other semi-final clash, St Hugh's tagged Alpha Academy 2-0 with both goals coming from the stick of Antonette Baxter, also on Friday at the same venue.
Wolmer's Boys clipped Campion College 3-2 in their semi-final encounter last Monday, with goals from Justin Frith in the 11th minute, Shiaiene Black in the 14th and Luke Frazer in the 47th minute, while the losers' goals were scored by Richard Harris in the 19th and 22nd minute.
