Oh man. John Holt, lovely man. He was from the era when there was no generation gap between what parents and children listened to. At least not when I was growing up in Kingston. We used to sing Ali Baba to clap-hand games.
What sad news. The guy was GREAT. Ever-so-glad that I was on hand to see him perform meaningful concerts while he still had it ALL...and man did John Holt have it.

The purest, cleanest voice in local music history is no longer with us. Winston 'John' Holt, CD, was born in Greenwich Farm on July 11, 1947, and was singing in amateur competitions from the age of 12.
