This sounds like something that would happen in Jamaica back in the old days...Do you agree with this? Does he have a right to attack him like this if he does not have permission to be in his home?

A Pennsylvania father is apologizing after police say he pulled his daughter's male friend by the hair and chopped off his dreadlocks with a knife.

Reginald Hardy was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and other offenses after police say he saw the 19-year-old sneaking around his apartment Friday with his 17-year-old daughter.

Police say the 38-year-old Hardy punched the 19-year-old in the face and threatened to shoot him in the back if he ran away as he left.

Hardy tells WFMZ-TV (http://bit.ly/1wRJT4i ) he was only looking out for his daughter. He says her friend was disrespectful to him and shouldn't have been at the apartment.

What was the terroristic threat?

I can understand chasing the boy out of his apartment but he did go too far in cutting the locks.

The daughter just moved in with him a few weeks ago. Hope they went over the ground rules fully

I guess he made the boy terrified hence that charge. I wonder why he focused on his dreads and not trying to "cut off" another body part..

The father is a hot-headed immature fool. IMHO he committed a hate crime by cutting off the young man's hair. Maybe in his unbridled rage he said something like, "People like you should not be allowed in the country..." while he threatened to shoot the young man in the back ... in which case that statement could be construed as an act of terrorism.

Father is 38. Daughter is 17. Pickney raising pickney. SMH

Oh, hell no, he didn't have any right. Beat his *** if he felt he must, but cutting his hair was ridiculous. If I was the boy's parent I'd be having some angry words and possibly an ***-whipping for the father. Not unlike the cop that cut the woman's weave out when she got arrested. The cop got fired but was reinstated after arbitration.
