Yes you know them all, they started with the I love yous, they kissed, hugged, held hands, and flaunted their love in the public eye. Some had kids together, some got engaged, some even got married… But some how, In the wink of an eye, however, they were over!!!
Check out the top high-profile Jamaican celebrity couples that surprisingly didn’t make it:

11. Ce’Cile and Chris Martin
Bet some of you guys didn’t know they dated!! She was dancehall’s self-proclaimed ‘Bad Gyal’, but did she meet her match? It seems so.
Though she tried to keep her relationship with fellow entertainer Christopher Martin a secret, they couldn’t keep their love out of the public eye.
Well, story really ‘come to bump’ when Ce’Cile’s baby bump started to show. Ce’Cile and Chris Martin had a baby girl together.
However, shortly afterwards the couple’s four year relationship came to an end after rumours of heavy partying and skirt chasing began to surface.

10. D’Angel and Bounty Killer
This beauty, known for her attractive long legs, makes our list twice. She burst on the music scene with her relationship with well-known Jamaican deejay, Bounty Killer. The couple dated on and off for over ten years. The relationship, however, came to a permanent end when D’angel started seeing Bounty Killer’s dancehall rival, Beenie Man .

Who could forget when these two tied the knot on 22 August 2006- yes, it was one of the most talked about weddings in Jamaica’s history.
The wedding couldn’t have come at a more perfect time as the two had a son – Marco Deane – together in November of that year. But, before anyone knew it, there was trouble in paradise. In 2007, rumours of infidelity began to surface. Then came those infamous Onstage interviews. The couple finally called it quits in 2011.

8. Beenie Man and ‘Dancehall Queen’ Carlene
She is infamous for the butterfly dance and is said to be Beenie Man’s first love. She often jokes that she “took his heart and I never gave it back”. Though the duo were never married, they were definitely the ‘it’ couple back in the 1990′s. They called it quits in 1996.

7. Yendi Phillipps and Asafa Powell
Miss Jamaica Universe runner-up Yendi Phillips also makes our list twice. Before Chino, Yendi dated Asafa Powell, former 100m sprint world record holder. The couple kept their romance quiet for a long time, but became more open as the relationship progressed, with either of them rarely seen out without the other. Unfortunately, the relationship was rumored to be plagued by infidelity. The two headed to splitzville in early 2011, with Phillipps repotedly telling a local magazine that she and asafa remained “good friends”.

6. Yendi Phillipps and Chino McGregor
After her split from Asafa, Yendi found love in the sweet sounds of the music industry. When did they start dating? Where did they meet? It’s anyone’s guess but, in April of 2012, Yendi took to social media to show off her baby bump and, well, announce her relationship with the baby’s dad, Chino McGregor. Talk about a shocker! It sent social media into a frenzy. Then came the infamous press conference or, uhm, video interview with a local newspaper. Then, in a blink of an eye, they were over. And, yes, it got nasty with Yendi taking daddy Chino to court for child support. Then came Chino’s rebuttal that he has not even been able to see the baby. Wow, talk about the love train derailing.

5. Lady Saw and John John
Who would have known that ‘Muma Saw’ would have had trouble keeping her beloved John John?
Well, she did not go behind closed doors and head for a box of kleenex. Instead, she took to Twitter to vent, and vent she did.
John John was accused of being anything but faithful. The couple, which had been together for 17 years, called it quits.
But was it over for good?
No one really knows, but it’s rumored that Lady Saw has a soft spot for John John and has taken him back.

4. Foxy Brown and Spragga Benz
Who can forget the budding romance between Foxy Brown and Spragga Benz. The duo recorded tracks together and were seen publicly together. Foxy Brown and Spragga Benz got engaged in 2001. However, by 2007, things came to an end despite the duo hosting the Urban Music Awards in New York. It is rumored that Foxy Brown’s miscarriage had something to do with the breakup. However the two remain good friends, at least according to Spragga Benz.

3. Cindy Breakspeare and Tom Tavares Finson
Cindy Breakspeare and Tavares-Finson tied the knot in 1981. The couple has two children together, Christian and Leah. Cindy has publicly thanked Tom for being a good step dad to Damion Marley, the son she had with reggae legend Bob Marley. But, after fourteen years of marriage, the two called it quits in 1995.

2. Ishawna and Foota Hype
This couple was all over the news last year, when they were engaged in a heated war of words. The couple, which began dating when Ishawana was a teenager, put each other on blast after they parted ways, with allegations of infidelity, domestic abuse and dissatisfaction in the bedroom being thrown around as reasons for the split. Talk about a messy breakup! The dancehall duo shares a son together, and there is still alot of tension between them.

1. Tessanne Chin and Michael Cuffe
We never saw this one coming, and we’re all hoping they will work things out, these two made reports few months ago, after Michael Cuffe moved out of their house. Rumours started that the couple was having marital couple and heading for divorce. We’re yet to get anyone official word for the reason that caused the end of this beautiful union.
