KINGSTON, Jamaica – After skipping out on last weekend’s JAAA National Senior Trials at the National Stadium, World Record holder Usain Bolt will be hoping for a much improved performance when he lines up against newly crowned national champion Asafa Powell in the 100m race at the Paris Diamond League meeting on Saturday.
Bolt has had a disappointing season so far with a series of sub-par times and performances. He was expected to run the 100m last weekend but opted out as Powell went on to win in a season best of 9.84 seconds.
Nesta Carter, who missed out on a place in the men’s 100m at the IAAF World Championships in August, is also slated to compete in the 100m race at the Diamond League meeting as well as Americans Ryan Bailey and Mike Rodgers.
