Netflix and Hulu are ok when you want to watch mainstream movies and series, but where do you go when you want to see independent films and series featuring Black people from the whole diaspora? Right now, you don’t have too many options. But kweliTV wants to change that.
kweliTV is a streaming service like no other. It’s a network and app that offers documentaries, news programs, original docu-series, educational content and independent films of the global Black community that will be accessible through Smart TVs, Internet TV devices, tablets and smartphones and the computer—all on demand.
Currently the site is in its beta phase, but when it launches in December, it’ll be interesting to see what additional programming it will offer.
Unlike Netflix, the site also offers a range of subscription types, from yearly to pay-per-view rentals. So if you’re in the market for a streaming service that caters to the Black experience all over the world,kweliTV may just be what you’re looking for.
