Every year my father would buy me a bottle of sherry or brandy.

I hate sherry and brandy.

I'd always keep them and re-wrap them and give them back to him for his birthday present.

One Christmas my mother gave me a pink and white dress with little buttons shaped like cherries. I loved this dress because it made me feel pretty Aside from school uniform and maybe two Sunday School dresses, I mostly wore shorts and t-shirt ... so this was my special dress. I have four younger sisters who always got to wear clothes I had outgrown. Except this dress - I kept it just for me.

ok...tagging along with the school uniform mention. one year...yes, i was older and married by this time....my mama took my school uniform out of her hope chest and made pillow covers with it.

a gift that has alllllways stuck out as a fond memory from my childhood....was my talking herman munster puppet. i LOVED that thing. you pulled the cord...and he'd say fun things like meeeeeeeeeeeeeeet me at the graveyahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhd.

one year I got a blue bicycle with white balloon tires and a rack on the back where I could strap my dolly and ride wid here
