My name is Richard Facey and I was recently diagnosed with ALS/Lou Gehrig's Disease or Motor Neuron Disease by Senior Consultant Neurologist, Dr. David Gilbert, at the University Hospital of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica in November 2016. The symptoms of this disease started earlier this year in July with a foot limp and has now progressed to my being confined to a wheelchair and almost completely bed-bound.

I am no longer the independent, able-bodied truck driver I once was since being disabled by this progressively degenerative ailment.

I have incurred medical expenses beyond my ability to meet such as my hospital admission for 11 days inclusive of costly diagnostic tests, ongoing prescription medications, and sustained post-hospital care. Unfortunately, I do not have any medical insurance to help me defray these expenses.

I am asking for financial help to meet those obligations, as I am no longer able to perform even the simplest of tasks such as lifting my little grand-babies.

I will be 62 on December 26th, 2016 (Boxing Day) and would wholeheartedly and gratefully receive whatever you are able to give, no matter how small it may be.

I believe that I will be better one day soon and thank you in advance for your financial support and prayers. I will update you further as to my condition. God bless!
