There is a test that Jamaican students take that is equivalent to the SAT in the US and the name of it escapes me right now. Does anyone know?
College placement tests?

Re: College placement tests?
I would not know what the test is but the PSAT in 11th grade is what resulted in my scholarships.
All I can say is this, make sure you know the scoring system. The ACT is way easier than the SAT. With the ACT, they don't care what all you get wrong. They only add up what you get right. With the SAT and PSAT, they take off 1/4 a point for every answer you get wrong so guessing is not a good option if you really don't know the answer.
Don't waste a whole lot of time on harder questions because you are not going to get any extra credit for them. If you do any guessing, stick with what has been your most popular answer. In my case it was "B".

Unless you are reffering to CLEP.
Which is not a substitute for CLEP neither are the CAPE or advance level GCE.
ADVANCE level And cape are above grade level for freshman year in the US education system.
They are designed for 3 year undergraduate education.
While the US follows a 4 year standard.

?!? </div></div>CSEC is just a certificate to acknowledge the achievement of a set standard of education.
The US does not have any comparable standard.
Every school department have their own standard.
As as result the need for the SAT ACT etc.
Because Jamaica has a national standard based on the Caribbean examination council examinations they font usually need the SAT.
Although some Jamaican students do the SAT with intent on landing a scholarship.
